Girls and Boys Soccer Triumphs against Holton-Arms and Maret

Playing on the same day, the teams both show their potential for banner seasons

In a banner day for Potomac soccer, on Tuesday, September 19, the girls and boys varisty teams both triumphed against rival conference teams, winning their respective matches against Holton-Arms and Maret to the delight of Potomac fans. 

Girls varsity soccer had a great match against Holton-Arms, ending with a final score of 2-1 to remain undefeated, with a record of 2-2-0. This victory over Holton, formerly the second-seeded team in the ISL, shows the team’s strong potential for the rest of the season. Ellis Wilson ’26 was a force in the midfield, controlling and distributing the ball, alongside Alden Marin ’26 and Reagan Exley ’24. Goalkeeper Amory Imperatore ‘25 shut down Holton’s hopes at scoring as she helped position the defense. Chloe Lee ’25 and Ally Griswold ‘26 notched Potomac’s scores.

Boys Varsity Soccer showcased its talent in a 3-1 vistory against Maret, formerly the number one seed in the MAC conference, to remain undefeated. Throughout both halves, the boys showed cohesive and disciplined unity across the field. Patrick Ritter ‘25 weaved through Maret’s defensive line to score in the first half, while JP Sosnitsky ‘25 scored with 8 minutes remaining to seal the win for Potomac. Luke Brittin ‘25, Zach London ‘24, and Marshall Lloyd ‘25 dominated the midfield, with Walker Lyall ‘24 vigilantly defending the goal from Maret’s offense.
