Ava Moazzes ‘25 wrestles the ball from a Holton player’s grasp

This Tuesday, October 17, Potomac’s Varsity Field Hockey faced off against Holton-Arms on Potomac’s turf. Potomac played well, pressing against Holton-Arms’ defense relentlessly, but Holton-Arms won the game 3-1. This puts Potomac at 2-6 in the conference and 5-8 overall.

Holton-Arms started the game off by slipping through the Panther’s tight defense only three minutes in and scoring a shot, ending the first quarter up 1-0. Potomac’s defense remained impenetrable during the second quarter, and the first half ended with no changes. Despite great effort on the part of goalkeeper Sydney Irwin ‘25 and her defense, Holton-Arms was able to score another shot 6 minutes into the third quarter. Eight minutes into the third quarter, the Panthers fired many impressive shots at the opponent’s goal but were thwarted. Finally, with a remarkable assist from Bella Kim ‘25, Tara Bansal ‘26 fired an impressive shot, sending the ball whizzing into the goal. With a final goal from the Holton Panthers at the end of the third quarter and a stalemate battle in the fourth, the game ended 1-3.
