On Tuesday this week, Potomac’s Varsity Girls Field Hockey showed its prowess against rival Madeira School, winning 7-0. Throughout all 60 minutes, the girls dominated possession and maintained excellent offensive fluidity and rhythm against the Madeira defense. Midfield transitions remained consistent and aggressive throughout the game, while the defense led by Goalkeeper Sydney Irwin ’25 stayed strong against Madiera’s offensive drives.
Forward Dasha Minsky ‘24 and defender India Cairncross ‘25 scored exciting goals, while center forward Bella Kim ‘25 drove through the defense to score three goals, and forward Tara Bansal ‘24 scored twice.
Despite the graduation of an extremely strong senior class, Potomac has continued to move up the ISL rankings, now ranked 8th out of 15 teams. The team will take center stage against the Bullis School (ranked 7th) this Thursday, September 21, on the turf field.
